🔹 Step 1: Determine Natural/Base Level

Compare client’s hair to the level swatches (1–10).

Note if they are warm, neutral, or cool at their natural level.
🔹 Step 2: Identify % of Grey

0–25% = can usually blend with permanent colour.

25–50% = may need more natural base tone added for coverage.

50–75% = formula must prioritize coverage + tone.

75–100% = requires full grey coverage strategy (often double natural tone).
🔹 Step 3: Find Underlying Pigment at Target Level

Level 2 → Red

Level 4 → Red

Level 5 → Red–Orange

Level 6 → Orange

Level 7 → Orange–Yellow

Level 8 → Yellow

Level 9 → Pale Yellow
